Linden Barn – A Hampshire Garden

Since 2001, Terry and Vanessa Winters have transformed their 1/3 acre plot from an old, neglected farmyard into a romantically beautiful English garden. Featuring flowing herbaceous planting contained within topiary hedging, the emphasis is placed upon structure and colour combinations that change throughout the year. The garden features gravel and paved pathways, seating areas and many interesting viewpoints. The planting scheme itself uses bold drifts of colours with classic cottage garden plants alongside contemporary species. Meanwhile, specimen trees create a woodland escape against the backdrop of an old village church.

The garden has been photographed by Nicola Stocken Tomkins (www.gardenpix.co.uk) and has been featured in garden and lifestyle magazines in the UK and abroad. The garden was also a finalist in the prestigious Daily Mail National Garden Competition in 2007.

The Garden at Linden Barn opens in support of the National Garden Scheme. www.ngs.org.uk
